Pleased to report that my Mom is continuing to recover well, and (touch wood) all systems are “go” for me to return to Vancouver tomorrow. This month has certainly been a bumpy ride for us all, but things are falling into place nicely, and life will soon return to normal for all!
I did some running around for my folks this morning, then took a quick walk in the neighborhood. I walked by my old high school…something I hadn’t done in a very very long time.
Woah…what a throwback! I can’t say I have many “nostalgic” feelings for this school. I wasn’t one of those folks who LOVED the high school experience. I’m still close with my friend Marion…but other than that…I wouldn’t turn back the clock and go back to being a teen for anything. However, it was strange to be there…. It looks ALMOST the same, other than some new stained glass windows that were added…
And here ladies and gentlemen, is my “true confession”….right here, behind the portable classrooms? Is where I smoked my first and last cigarette. Both within the span of about 2 minutes….
…and looking down at the ground, I can see that shenanigans is still going on.
Here are a few other photos from my walk….
My Dad thinks love shouldn’t be for sale with coffee and food….
This isn’t something I made up, but I saw it the other day. “Some people see weeds, and other see wishes”…
I choose wishes….
My Dad’s favorites….
…one of which does yoga poses. Namaste!
I made a pit stop at a yard sale that was to raise funds for therapy dogs. This is one…
…and this is “Ian”, my new friend.
Ian gave me the biggest hug I’ve had in a long time. Paws on shoulders and nuzzling right into me…omg….I melted. His owner also demonstrated his “Dumbo Ears”. AWWW….
..”sigh. It is SOOOO boring being adorable”
I was out and about this afternoon, and came home via Mt. Tolmie. “Mount” is subjective….in relation to larger mountains, it is more like “Bump Tolmie”…however…. I’d love to point out my parent’s home from here…but I can’t find it. :)
After dinner, we could hear TONS of “clicking” and “buzzing”…I went out to see if I could capture a hummingbird at night, and just watch them feed. They were feeding in pairs. AWWW!!!!
And one that caught the light, and looked like a ghost. Strange photo…
While I waited for the birds, I took a couple of night fern shots…
And finally, I didn’t find many “hearts” today, and those I did are a bit of a stretch. Bark shaped as a heart (sort of) and Ian’s nose from this angle. (yup, it’s a stretch)
I’m sure tomorrow will be a “heartier” day. How’s everyone’s weekend going?
