Truth be told, every day should be Earth Day, but hey…. Along that theme, I returned to work today, and was
half jokingly called a “tree hugger” by one of my co-workers. He saw me wince when he printed half a forest worth of documents that will just be discarded in a couple of days. sigh. If I’m a tree hugger, so be it…but at least I double side and only print what is necessary.
BIG Happy Birthday to my friend Cynthia too!
Happy to report as well that my Mom will be discharged from hospital (again!) tomorrow, so after work, I’ll be heading back to Victoria for a few days to help her and my Dad out. I’m lucky I have vacation days to use, and that I’m close enough to be there.
In honour of Earth Day, I will fill today’s post with “nature-y”, “earthy” photos! On my walk to work this morning, I saw a jaunty little snail….
The “hearts of the day” are here…
And there is a “hidden background heart” in this shot. Can you see it?
Other spring blossoms and greenery? Really gorgeous. Most of these are from my lunchtime walk.
A huge St. Bernard caused quite the sensation with some kids….
..and a well placed seagull flying against the clouds.
Other birds of note….pigeons in love. Awww…
…and another pigeon who seemed like he wanted to watch. :)
…this robin had his mouth full, and also watching the canoodling pigeons….
But enough of that…here are some goose shots to share. “Control tower, you are clear for landing…”
..”as long as you cast an interesting reflection. Over and out!”.
The Creature from the Green Lagoon…
…who was followed by two reflective geese….
..who were jeered by two geese on the ground who were pretty grumpy. (with that attitude, I’m guessing goslings are around and are being protected)
Drumroll….until we see goslings, we’ll have to settle for DUCKLINGS!!!! As I said earlier, get ready to AWWWWW!!!! These are the first feathery babies I’ve seen this season, and they are SOOOOOO cute!
Pigeon photobomb #2…..
Mama Duck was REALLY hissing at this goose. Awww…the goose was just walking by and really wasn’t interesting in the babies. Awww…
Once Mama knew they were safe, she resumed her yoga practice and did an airplane post. HA!
One of the babies found a tiny little fish. He didn’t seem to eat it, he just chewed it and tossed it around. OK..one last…AWWWW!
And I’ll end today’s post with some slightly less “awww inducing” but interesting (to me) nonetheless. The daily bug gallery….doesn’t the leaf that the first bug is on look like a velour bathrobe? Well, a very bumpy velour…
On that note, I’m going to ‘buzz’ off to bed. (groan!) I have an early start and a full day tomorrow. I’ll be back then from my parent’s place. Have a good Wednesday everyone!
