Today’s Photo A Day challenge prompt is “Made me smile”. I posted this pic on the blog a few days ago….but posted it on the photo site today. Neva’s
ladylike antics make me smile pretty much every day. We’re lucky to have her.
I was up early this morning to do a Hatha yoga class. 5 down….35 to go!
Before class, I fueled up with some greek yogurt, raspberries and granola.
After class, I stopped in at Starbucks for a tall, non-fat pumpkin spice latte.
As the picture above (taken on the hood of our car) shows, autumn has truly arrived in a wet way here in Vancouver. Bye sunshine, see you again in May! (ok, that is a bit over dramatic!) Even the crows look wet and unimpressed.
When I got home from yoga and errands, I made ham sandwiches with smoked provolone on a foccacia bun that was still warm.
After lunch, I went and spent some time with Helen. The chestnut trees in front of her house are dropping their little “tribbles” all over the place. I’m not a Star Trek fan and only recently learned about tribbles.
Ok…maybe it’s a bit of a stretch. (thank you Google, and William Shatner)
When I got home, a wave of “I must cook” energy came over me. I’d only planned on making some soup, and a crumble with some peaches that needed dealing with…and I did both, but also raided the fridge/freezer/crisper/cupboards and made baked brown rice, curried chicken, taco filling, sausage pasta sauce and a turkey meatloaf.
Between cookings, we had a glass of red wine, some figs/grapes and little cheese ends I picked up at the deli yesterday.
We’re pretty much prepped for the week ahead….yay!
Dinner tonight while watching the Emmy’s (I love Neil Patrick Harris…yeah, I admit it..) we had breakfast for dinner ’cause we didn’t have our usual Sunday breakfast together today. I had a few pieces of bacon in the freezer, we had scrambled eggs and toast as well.
We also had a serving of peach/blackberry crumble.
Why do weekends fly by so quickly??????? Happy first full week of autumn to all!
