Today’s Photo A Day Challenge prompt is “On the wall”. I took this picture of a wall mural today. It is close to where I work. Instead of birds on a wire, we have birds on a wall.
I’ll give a quick menu rundown, share a few shots from the day, then I’m calling it a night.
Breakfast this morning was a bagel thin with ham, an egg and spinach. And coffee. Coffee and home, coffee at work….I was bouncing off the walls for part of the morning.
I had a few figs during the morning.
Lunch was a kale salad with nutritional yeast, light feta and a peach. I also had some Coronation Grapes. (or as one of my colleagues calls them “Welch’s Grape Juice Grapes”.
I had some veggies and a Halloween pack of Reese’s pieces before yoga.
NOTE TO SELF: Reeses pieces are NOT a good protein source, and you will peter out at yoga class before it ends.
I’m not sure if I petered out at yoga due to my lack of protein prior to the workout, or the fact we had a substitute teacher tonight who was about as motivating and charismatic as….well, the mat I was standing on. I’m sure she’s a lovely person, but her class did nothing for me. Oh well….can’t win ‘em all.
After yoga, we had grilled chicken breasts, grilled peppers (with balsamic) and corn.
I had a nice was TO yoga. The fact that the days are shorter was VERY noticeable tonight, the sun seemed MUCH lower than it did at the same time last week. Despite that, it is still warm and summery and the weatherman is saying that we’ll be setting heat records for September over the next few days. Heatwaves and thunderstorms…..mother nature is mad.
The next pile of dirt has been brought to our community garden. The bed filling will continue on the weekend. (though I will likely not be helping, I have the re-do of the occupational first aid exam next Monday, and studying and practicing will take priority)
This little dog may look mean, but I was getting a full body wag…awww…..
No full body wagging by this creature though…
Dennis and I have a soft spot for all things dragonfly.
We’ll call this shot the wandering minstrel.
I liked the colors of these leaves.
There was A LOT of activity by the rowing dock tonight.
That’s it for Monday. I’m off to prep for the day tomorrow. Hope everyone’s week has started out well.
