Today, we had my friend Kathy’s funeral. We laughed, we cried, we said goodbye.
This is part of a poem she chose and I’m now choosing to share here.
When I am gone, release me, let me go –
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears;
Be Happy that we had these precious years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you have each shown,
But now it’s time I traveled on alone.
Kathy was an amazing, inspirational, optimistic, loving and hilarious friend, and I am proud to have been part of her circle. She will never be forgotten.
Before she died, she and I discussed photos and memories….and she said “the day of my funeral, I want you to post the turkey picture again”. Kath, I miss you so much, “bring on the stilton”….and this one is for you!
