I’m not really sure why, but my energy level for the last couple of weeks has been in the dumpster. Getting out of bed has been brutal, though I feel fine physically, I’ve been a bit foggy mentally and I’ve just been dragging. So I’m taking matters into my own hands. I’ve been pretty busy lately, good busy, I’m not complaining at all, but I haven’t been busy taking care of myself.
I’ve booked Friday off, will be going to a good sweaty Group Power class (similar to body pump classes) to get my endorphins working, I’m buying some Florvita (the iron supplement) that I took last time I felt like this, I’ve postponed a couple of visits over the next few days and spread them out so I don’t have back to back engagements, and on my day off will shop for tons of foods for energy…in a nutshell, I’m going to take care of ME! (seems a bit selfish…but I think its important)

That said, I’ve been very much on weight watchers track, so eating for energy won’t be TOO different than my normal menus. More on that over the next few days….
As today is Wednesday, here is Michelle’s famous hand taken at our standing pre-work coffee date. Thumbs down??? Looks are deceiving, Michelle wasn’t blue this morning at all.
When I got to work, I had 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup greek yogurt and 2 tbsp Nature’s Path Pumpkin Raisin Crunch cereal. (my photos today leave a lot to be desired – sorry)
During the morning, I had a hard boiled egg.
Lunch was more lentil soup, a small bun and an orange. (see, terrible photo! And my little bun fell into the soup before I took the shot, and became a big floating crouton)
Dennis and I are ships passing in the night again this week (we won’t be eating together again ’till Saturday). Tonight, it was just me, so I cooked some whole wheat pasta, melted some light cream cheese, added some lemon and italian seasoning and had it with a breadstick for dinner. Not terribly inspired, but it was good, and I have leftovers.
Neva is in her basket in front of the fire, and I’m going to head to the couch behind her and watch Survivor. More info (and better photos) will appear tomorrow! See you then.

Sorry you aren’t feeling too well but I like your plan for getting out of this funk! I think Spring fever has hit a lot of us and we just need some warmer weather and sunshine to brighten our spirits!
Wishing you warmer days ahead and boost in energy!

You might try adding a magnesium supplement. I was shocked at how much better I felt after I started taking it. Big difference! Apparently, my multi~vitamin just wasn’t enough.
Also, be sure you’re getting enough of the B vitamins….those can help a lot too. Being low on the B’s is very similar to being low on iron.
Cheers to finding more energy!

This time of year saps my energy. I’m tired of winter, tired of gray days, tired of everything. This year I started some spring cleaning projects early, which has pumped up my energy quite a bit.

Sometimes I think I get sluggish when I don’t get enough VitD and well, when the sun doesn’t shine for days and days and I don’t get out because it’s too cold, I try to remember to take a supplement. I’m really bad about taking supplements, but I really find VitD helps a lot. Of course, a good dose of warm weather and spring would help too! lol Take care Roz!
