Happy March! True to the saying, March came in like a Lion here in Vancouver….umbrellas were our friends.

And in keeping with my new “monthly goals” here is what I hope to accomplish in March.

#1 – Lose 5 lbs. Tomorrow will be “day 1″ of a new month, and my hope is that I’ll be 5 lbs less by the 31st.
#2 – Work out at LEAST twice per week. Not just stretchy workouts; good, sweaty fat burning workouts.
#3 – Try (and post) at LEAST two new healthy recipes each week.
#4 – Practice what I learned at my camera workshop and stretch a little out of my “auto mode” comfort zone
# 5 – Try again to purge the clothes in the closet.
#5 – Keep laughing every day! (at myself, and my closet!)
I’ll report back on the 31st and let you know how I get on.
As an aside, I found out today that March 1st is “National Pig Day”. Had I known that, I certainly would have used a different mascot for the day.

However, Academic Frog will have to do. He stood by the smoothie that I had for breakfast. It was made with almond milk, banana, frozen mango and protein powder.
I had a cup of blueberries during the morning.
I met my friend Sally for lunch today, and had the special “lunch trio” – mini turkey club sandwiches with a cup of mushroom soup and small salad.
We had the same server as we had before, he remembered us and brought us MORE Bellini glass adornments, though we were drinking water. Fun!! Thank you Daniel! The collection grows!!
After work today, Dennis and I spent some time with a friend who is in hospital. When we were finding the ward we were looking for, we took a wrong turn and landed in the Residential Care area of the facility. There,we met Hubert, one of the two resident kitties. Hubert is HUGE, very very mellow and apparently a wonderful calming force for the residents. (we found that out from the staff member who directed us to the right area) What a cutie!! And look how he flirted with Dennis, had him rub his belly and yawn because he was so relaxed.
By the time we were on our way, it was pretty late so we stopped at a new sushi restaurant for a quick and cheap dinner. This is my handsome, miso soup eating date.
I had my standard veggie sunomono, a spicy tuna roll and a scallop/tuna roll.
The sushi was good, not great. And the service? OMG, it was the worst EVER! So bad that we only left a $0.03 tip. (and that was because it rounded the bill up to an even dollar amount) It’s always good to try new places, but this one will not go on our “return to” list.
Very glad its the weekend. I’m ready for my clean slate “March set point” weigh in tomorrow, then we have a busy day planned.
Today’s question? Have you had horrific service in a restaurant? Did you complain? Not tip? I’d love to hear your story.

March 1st is St.David’s Day. It’s the day we celebrate our Welsh heritage! My Grandma S must have turned over in her grave to think there was any porcine connection!

Laughing is the key to life, I think. (Followed immediately by cupcakes.)
I’ve had bad service in restaurants before, and if I determine that it’s the server’s fault, I don’t tip. Fortunately, it’s only happened a handful of times.

Love your goals for the month. I cleaned my closet last Saturday and put away all the Winter clothes I won’t wear anymore. Next month all my Winter clothes will be put away in boxes and replaced by the Spring/Summer clothes.
