We celebrated my Mom’s birthday with her last weekend, but today is the official day, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!!
How old is my Mom? Today, she turned 34 and a few more!
I didn’t start my day with birthday cake in honor of my Mom. I should also say that I PROBABLY could have brought out an “ugly troll” for the breakfast shot. The trolls that are so ugly they make REALLY ugly meals look better. Be warned, the image below is NOT pretty (but it tasted good) I had a toasted sandwich thin, light cream cheese and a 1/4 of a bruised avocado.
Does anyone else see the irony in the fact I’ve posted one of the worst photos I’ve ever taken, the morning after I took a photography workshop. Hmm….good thing the workshop was free, or I’d probably have to ask for my registration fee back.
Just kidding. Here you go, I got some help from Picassa – still not a good photo, but at least it has an unusual effect.
Before work, I met Michelle for our Wednesday morning pre-work coffee. Her famous hand was very creative today.
During the morning, I had about 1.5 cups cut fruit. (orange and grapefruit segments and grapes – photographed at my desk with the toys from yesterday’s lunch, Daniel the elephant and Tara the mermaid)
I met my friend Suz for lunch today. We went for sushi, I had veggie sunomono, a half order of tuna sashimi and a ‘hot, hot roll’ (spicy tuna with hot sauce, topped with plain tuna, pickled onion and jalapeno) Thanks Suz, for coming to my side of the bridge, and for lunch itself!
Just before I left work, I had an apple and 10 almonds.
I needed a bit of power for the Jazzercise class I went to. I did a drop-in to see if I liked it, and I did. I can see myself going back on a regular basis. Not only did I have jazz hands, I had “loose hips” too. I KNOW!!!! A woman beside me wasn’t quite getting the hang of the choreography (not that the rest of us looked like showgirls) and regularly dropped the f-bomb throughout the class, I guess either thinking I couldn’t hear, or just not caring. She had rhythm though, because the curses came at regular beats. Funny.
When I got home (once I got in the door…our front door lock was sticking and I was close to dropping an f-bomb or two myself while I was messing around trying to get in my apartment. Took well over 5 minutes, and some encouragement from our neighbor Fran, but eventually the key turned and I got in!) I was actually still pretty full from lunch, so I just made a couple of Portobello “faux pizzas”. (I got the big mushrooms on the weekend, and they needed to be used) I put some sun dried tomato hummus and goat cheese sprinkles on, baked them, drizzled them with balsamic reduction, and voila, dinner. (perhaps ugly troll worthy too?)
I’ll leave tonight with the latest in the series of “Neva will get in anything (no ugly troll needed here) You’ve seen her in bowls, baskets, pans, bags and under pillows. Today, she squeezed herself into the empty carton from Dennis’ apple juice. What a ham!!!

LOL! I thought the same thing, until I “acquired” my last cat Raleigh from my ex room mate. I’ve lucked out and had two really wonderful cats, which were nothing like the aloof, snotty animals I thought cats were. They are little balls of personality, and I can’t imagine my home without one. Thanks for stopping by! You have a great day too.

Great pic of the bday mom!!!! Cracked me up with that first pic & my mind went elsewhere!
I took Jazzercise ages ago!!! Glad you liked it! I got crazy with too many people trying to do the moves & knocking into each other.
Neva – got to love her!

Happy Birthday to your Momma! Love that you have jazz hands! In dance classes like that, I tend to stay in the WAY back because I have no coordination at all.

I used to do Jazzercise back in the early 90s – I can grapevine like, well, like someone with two left feet. But it’s fun – glad you enjoyed your class!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROZ’S MOM!!!
