Thanks to all who sent well wishes to Dennis. Happy to report he’s doing really well and is on his way to full and speedy recovery!
Before we get to the day’s menu recap, here are a couple of shots of this morning’s sunrise from our balcony.
Dennis is still on “relatively soft food” today, so I made oatmeal for two at breakfast this morning. We topped it with a banana, some sugar-free syrup and a sprinkle of maple flakes.
During the morning, I had a cup of fruit salad that I have in the fridge. (orange, mango and grapes were on sale on the weekend)
I met my friend Sally for lunch today. When the server asked us what we’d like to drink, I jokingly said that I’d LIKE a Bellini, but because I had to work I’d just have warm water with lemon. This particular restaurant makes fantastic Bellinis, and “decorate” the glasses with little toys. I was brought my water with a mermaid Bellini toy. Sally’s coffee was adorned as well. Funny.
THEN, our server brought us water, with MORE toys. I got the elephant, Sally got the monkey.
I named them after the server Daniel and his girlfriend Tara. Daniel and Tara and now hanging off my computer on my desk.
My lunch was a hollandaise-less eggs benny with a salad.
During the afternoon, I had the last of the pumpkin/carrot cake-cake mix cookies that were in the freezer.
Dinner was on the run tonight, I quickly grabbed a toasted sandwich thin with light cream cheese and some kinda bruised avocado, with leftover roasted veggies on the side. (I sprinkled a little goat cheese on the veggies)
Why was I in a hurry? I had my dslr camera workshop tonight. There were four of us in the class, which included a couple with an 8 month old baby. The baby was wide awake in her stroller and parked in front of the hockey game that was playing on some tv screens. (we were just off the electronics department of a store) She kept quiet until the game went into overtime then got a little excitable. How Canadian!
Anyway, I learned tonight that I have MUCH to learn when it comes to the camera. It’s time to step out of the safe auto modes, and get out there and practice. I’ll be looking for photogenic things over the next little while and taking copious photos of them with all kinds of different settings. Bring it on! I’m ready to take my photos to the next level.
I’m also ready to hit publish and go and make some banana soft serve. G’night.

Seeing that view out your windows – wow! I see my hometown Blackhawks on the screen! Glad you enjoyed your workshop. Have fun!I’ve had my simple point and shoot digital camera for years and have never bothered to learn many of the features. I really should take the camera and the manual on the train with me and learn some of them.

I took some photography classes back in the old film days (remember film?)
and I thoroughly enjoyed each one. I also took a digital class, but there were about 20 people in it and most of the time seemed to be helping people turn on their cameras.
