Happy Valentine’s Day! Whether you are single, in a relationship or don’t care about the Hallmark day, I hope it was a good one!

I had two things that “jumped out at me” today. First of all, WHY WHY WHY do people write VERY personal, VERY intense love notes on freakin’ Facebook???? I’m all for romance, but seriously, words like “can’t wait to see you tonight”, “you are my everything” and “I’ll kiss you all over when we are together” should be either said in person, written by email and directed to the individual they are declaring their love for, or if you MUST be on facebook, go wall to wall. And then, WHO are these people hitting “like”????? WHERE is the “barf” button?? I would have hit that one for sure. (and here, I’ve created one for us to use) Just sayin….
And secondly, I phoned over to my parent’s home today. Here is how the conversation went:
Roz: “Hi Mom”
Roz’s Mom: “I’ll call you back, I have the furnace man here and your Dad is next door” click..
UM…ok, my Mom is entertaining the furnace repair man and my father is out. Eww…but ok.
A few minutes later:
Roz’s Mom: “Hi Dear, calling you back. Your Dad is back and he’s with the furnace man now”
Um…ok. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON AT MY PARENT’S PLACE, AND WHO IS THIS FURNACE REPAIR MAN! My God, I’m traumatized – I need counseling. STAT! Just sayin’ again….
Anyway….
Here is the Valentine’s menu rundown. I’m going to give a quick recap, ’cause I’m gonna go and spend some quality time with my husband. (OMG….I bet some of you would like to hit the barf button for that sentence. Here you go! Have at ‘er)
My breakfast at my desk was blueberries, pomegranate, greek yogurt and 1 tbsp of my rapidly dwindling “crack in a bag” gingerbread granola.
I had a hard boiled egg during the morning.
One of my colleagues gave me three Hershey kisses. I ate them all.
Lunch was two pieces of Little Big Bread, light cream cheese, smoked salmon trim, capers, sliced cucumbers and an orange.
I had an apple later this afternoon.
Dennis got home before me tonight and decorated the door. Cute!
(barf button if you need it!)
Tonight, I made a special dinner, using 3 recipes from Gina’s wonderful and healthy Skinnytaste website.
First though, we shared a little bottle of pink sparkling wine. Cheers.
The appetizer was hot “Skinny Artichoke Dip” with heart shaped crackers (hit that barf button again if you like, here you go)….
….that I made yesterday with leftover lavash bread that I bought at the Persian market last Friday.
We had a glass of white wine then.
Dinner was “Skinny Chicken Tikka Masala”. I served it with brown rice (that I spiced up with a rice spice mix from the Indian market I went to with Kathy last Friday). We also added some mango chutney and some yogurt with scallion.
And dessert was based on Gina’s “Skinny Strawberry Fool”, but I had blackberries in the freezer so made blackberry fool.
I know I’ve said this before, but if you haven’t checked out Gina’s site, I highly recommend you do. Her recipes are healthy, easy and delicious! All elements of tonight’s dinner will be making a return for us!
That’s it for our heart day. May all of your hearts be full of joy, love and happiness. BARF BUTTON for that!!
(but I really do mean it!)

Roz, I am right with you on the whole putting too much “out there” thing…not sure what these people are trying to prove, but BARF, indeed!

I don’t know WHY people don’t get that what they put on Facebook, the whole WWW sees! For crying out loud. I’ve actually hidden some people from my feed for not having any discretion at all.
Perhaps we should petition Facebook for not only a dislike button, but a barf button as well.

Loving the barf button! The heart-shaped crackers were cute — I’m thinking shamrocks, maple leafs, christmas trees…

I love the barf button! I agree, there were a few high school friends of mine that would literally have arguments with their kids and/or spouse on Facebook – wtf?!
Glad you had a great Valentine’s day – we had bubbly too!

LOL! I had to defriend this couple a few years ago because they were just in a relationship and they would type mushy gushy things online to each other including pet names. I wish there was a barf button then HAHAHHAA
