Our friends Lindi, Jeff, and their boys Aaron and Ben came over for brunch today.
Lindi bought a big bowl of fruit salad, and we made “top your own whole grain pancake” plates (toppings options syrup, sliced bananas, blueberry sauce that I made this morning, chocolate chips, raisins and coconut) with turkey and veggie sausage.
Jeff, I apologize you got the chair that Neva sits in the most. Thank goodness for lint rollers and friends willing to use ‘em.
The boys wanted to play on our Wii, so once we got it rehooked up, we ALL had fun. Made Dennis and I realize that we need to put the Wii to use much more often than we do.
After the brunch, I spent some time with Helen this afternoon at her home, then came home to use the laptop and play words with friends on my phone watch the Super Bowl with Dennis. We had some baked chips and cranberry/perrier “mocktails”. Yup…livin’ on the edge. Did your favorite team win?
We didn’t feel like cooking tonight, so sent out to Swiss Chalet for chicken dinner. I pulled the skin off the chicken breast and at it with herb mustard, topped the baked potato with fat-free sour cream and a small multigrain bun.
I made some banana soft serve with frozen mango/peach/strawberry combo. I put 1 tbsp chocolate chips on top (they were leftover from brunch).
That’s the weekend. Back to the weekday routine tomorrow. But yay…I have a short week ahead. Hopefully February has started out well in your neck of the woods!

Your breakfast party looks like everyone was having a great time – how fun! Yum to the pancakes with all the topping options, and of course the fruit salad. Hmmm, now I want to go make up a pretty fruit tray for myself!

I just *love* brunches. I really need to do one sometime because there are so many wonderful breakfast foods that I love to make – but it’s a lot to make just for myself and Ben

it’s cold, cold, cold here…wishing it were spring already! Tired of the snow. If I weren’t so cold right now, I might make some of that banana soft serve..but brrrrr…looks so good though!

I always enjoy ‘make-your-own’ parties. We did it with pizzas once, and it was loads of fun. Tasty, too.
Wishing you a great week, Roz!
