I was very pleasantly surprised at my weight watchers meeting this morning. The scale (my new “baseline”) was BARELY different from last week. Yay. I feel ready to re-commit to the program, and my long-term health.
Just ’cause, I’m posting this picture of Neva and her “batman shadow”. We move on….
When I got back from my meeting, and after running a couple of errands I had breakfast, two pieces of Little Big Bread, scrambled egg whites, a heaping cup of blueberries and an almond milk latte.
Later on, I had a greek yogurt parfait with blueberries, pomegranate and 2 tbsp gingerbread granola.
We knew we’d be eating late tonight, so had sandwiches before we went out. I had turkey on weight watchers raisin bread (really, it’s good) with arugula and slices of apple, and the rest of the apple alongside.
Why were we eating late? We went bowling with our friends Kathy, Phil, Jenn and Dave – where the lanes were very “old fashioned, low tech and just like out of the 60′s”. (well, I’d imagine anyway) They’re fantastic.
We were stylin’ in our shoes!
We of course had a beer. Actually, I had half and gave the other half to Dennis.
Then, we got down to business.
VERY serious business. Guys against the girls….
Phil’s form resembles the graphic on the wall and as a result, he scored well.
The guy one lane over from Kathy was a show-off! Not really….but sadly, he whooped it up for MANY more strikes than we threw. Many more. But the way I see it, it’s not about throwing strikes and spares, it’s about looking good! And his hands may be up, we had him beaten on that hands down.
Jenn and her “winning” ball.
Please note that pins were being knocked down in this shot. Several other shots exist where gutters were in full use by my balls.
Dennis was very proud of himself.
So which team won? I’ll let the pictures below answer that.
We’ll get you next time boys!!! Be afraid!
After bowling we went down to a restaurant close by for a bite. I had a glass of white wine. (cheers to the muscles we’ll all be feeling tomorrow because they’re different that those we all use regularly)
I had the chopped house salad made with beets, onions, cucumber, chickpeas and peppers.
It’s been a great Saturday, but it’s now late and I need some sleep. I’ll be back with Sunday news tomorrow. Hope everyone’s weekend is going well too.
