Today, someone told me something very important about January 23rd. It is apparently “National Measure Your Foot Day”.

REALLY?????? WHY????? However, given its yet another fairly slow news day here at weightingfor50…
Size 9
Left foot: 8 5/8 ” long, 3 3/4 ” wide (at bunion, and complete with leftover tan lines from last summer and part of the scar from my foot surgery last spring)
Right foot: 9″ long, 3 1/2″ wide (no bunion, but more tan lines and oh so ladylike hair on big toe. Geez, my feet are NOT attractive.)
You’re MOST welcome for that!!!! (and I too will be glad when my days are a little more interesting! Bear with me!)
I met Michelle before work this morning. Had I known then it was Measure Your Feet Day I’d have taken a ruler with me, asked her to remove her shoes and would have measured her feet right there in Starbucks. However, I didn’t so we’ll have to settle for her famous finger instead.
I had breakfast at my desk, it was exactly the same as I had yesterday, two pieces of weight watchers cinnamon raisin toast with 1 tbsp peanut butter and a banana. I didn’t have a good mascot at my desk, so I took today’s photo with a hot sauce sample bottle I have on hand.
I had a few grapes during the morning.
I had a bowl of my butternut squash and pear soup with corn cakes and laughing cow wedges for lunch.
And an apple later in the afternoon.
Dennis and I are ships passing in the night for the next few days (I’m looking forward to my ship being out of the port a bit more), so what is a girl to make for solo dinner? Scrambled eggs and toast (Little Big Bread with light butter).
I have EVERY hope that this is the last boring post of the week. However, if tomorrow turns out to be uninteresting, I may resort to measuring other body parts. Stay tuned….

Did you know that:
January 24, 2013 is National Peanut Butter Day?
January 24, 2013 is also Beer Can Appreciation Day? Celebrate responsibly, and consider how different our world might be if you couldn’t get beer in cans!
AND
January 24, 2013 is Celebrate Belly Laugh Day? At 1:24pm, no matter where you are on 1/24 (January 24th) you should throw your arms in the air and laugh out loud.
LAST ONE:
Saying beer can in a British accent sounds like bacon in a Jamaican accent.
So if tomorrow at 1:24PM you could film yourself eating a peanut butter cookie whilst drinking beer from a can and saying Beer Can with a British accent – you would win the internet.

When I saw your breakfast pic, I thought you ate the banana with bread with the hot sauce and thought “Interesting idea. I’ll have to try that some day.” (I am know to add hot sauce to anything.) Well, then I read your post and realized it was only a substitute mascot…

January 23rd was also National Pie Day. You could have made a pie – much better than fussing over your feet! My right foot is bigger too. I’ve never measured it but it’s enough that I always try shoes on my right foot first when buying new ones!

I was going to say it was National Pie day, but then I realized that was for the US and not Canada

The fact that you measured your feet and documented it makes me love you so much more!

Scrambled egg and toast sounds like a wonderful solo dinner! Who comes up with these “days” anyway?? It’s crazy! Glad your feet measured up!
