We slept in this morning. Well, to 8:00am, which is late for us. Once we were up and about, I made “pointified eggs benny”. (one english muffin, two poached eggs, a slice of ham and “mock” hollandaise sauce made with light mayo, fat-free sour cream, dijon mustard and lemon juice – I sprinkled dried spinach on top for the photo)
We also had almond milk lattes.
I went to visit Helen for a while then, Dennis and I went and had “date day” at the movies.
Before we left, we had leftover eggplant dip and hummus with crunchmaster crackers so we didn’t go crazy on buttered movie popcorn.
At the movie we split a “kids combo” ; a mini popcorn, a mini drink (iced tea) and a kinder chocolate egg (that contained a panda toy). Portion control at its finest.
I also had one of the “new to Canada” Skinny Cow cluster packages.
Chinese New Year decorations were being put up everywhere. It’ll be the year of the Snake.
As for the movie? Well…regular readers know I have a bit of a “tongue in cheek” crush on Anderson Cooper. Seems I’m now gonna have to make a little room on my imaginary boyfriend couch for another Cooper. We saw Silver Linings Playbook with Bradley Cooper. What a sweet movie. Best Picture Academy Award material? Hmm…not sure. But at the risk of sounding like a dirty cougar….Bradley Cooper should win for best stubble. Just sayin’….
Dinner was chicken cutlets baked in blue menu plum sauce, bbq sauce and some soy. We used up the leftover brown rice from the other night, steamed some zucchini and I sautéed some beet greens in a little olive oil, garlic and lemon.
That’s it for the weekend. I know I sound like a broken record because every Sunday I say “I can’t believe the weekend is over”, BUT…..I can’t believe the weekend is over. Did anyone else see any movies this weekend? Dennis and I are hoping to see a few more of the Best Picture nominees before the Academy Awards next month. Any recommendations?

It seems Django is a very good movie. We still have to go to the theatre to see the latest James Bond but am afraid that’s not going to happen and we will watch it at home.
Read your other latest posts too and congrats on Neva, you guys are too funny with the party hats. Funny that you got Neva in January 2010 and we got Bella in April 2010. Was a good year to get a fantastic pet for the both of us it seems.

I love the Chinese New Year decorations – very festive!!
I haven’t been to the theatre in a while. I usually end up renting the movies on Redbox after they come out but I LOVE going to the theatre. Just wish it wasn’t so pricey – a small popcorn and a movie ticket now will cost you $15!

I can’t even remember the last movie I sat through. I’m too fidgety for my own good.
We are in complete harmony on Bradley Cooper. ::swoon::

My running buddy Erica has a mad crush on Bradley Cooper. Ooh, if you liked him in his newest movie, you should rent Hit and Run. What a fun movie, plus Dax Shepherd and Kristen Bell are so cute in it!

Bradley Cooper has been in some dumb movies but even the cougar in me will admit he’s luscious to look at! Which means I try to watch all his movies…

I have not even heard of that movie! I must be out of touch
However, I could go for one of those Skinny Cow things — looks delicious!

I haven’t had poached eggs for far too long; such a shame I didn’t read this before dinner!
Kids’ snacks is a great idea, perfect portion control, and I don’t know whether it’s nominated or not but I really want to see Life of Pi, the book’s amazing

We haven’t been to the movies in ages – now at $10 per person, a movie has to really be “movie theater worthy” to see it! I would like to see that one though.
