Today’s post will stray a bit from the norm.  I do have a breakfast shot (two pieces of little big bread with egg white, a slice of light cheddar and hot sauce and a beaver)

But that is where the food shots for the day end.  I had one of those work lunches today where it would have been inappropriate to whip out the camera.  It was a potluck to celebrate the retirement of one of my colleagues.  I took a salad with arugula, butternuts squash, pomegranate, scallions and light feta.  I ate some of that and little spoonfuls of ALL kinds of other food.  (I made sensible choices including many salads, a mini pulled pork sandwich (yum!), some fruit and some sushi – I did NOT eat a chipmunk)

Then, evening rolled around, I was still full from the chipmunk-less lunch, so Dennis got himself some dinner, and I have yet to eat.  So no photo….  Not to say I won’t have something in a while, but I want to get this published.

In other news, I did a “self weigh in” today as I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make it to weight watchers tomorrow. (busy day ahead).  Happy to report the scale moved downward from last week.  YAY!!!  Back on track feels good.  Speaking of weight watchers, I want to toot the horn of my friend Melisa.  She was chosen to be a model in the latest campaign for WW.  Her first ad is just out this week.

Congrats M!!!!  You are an inspiration and a good friend.  I’m proud of you!  I should also clarify that Melisa IS in fact a scientist, but there are no rockets in her days.  :)

I’d also like to send a shout out to my friend “S” (shhh….she’s a blogger but doesn’t want to be identified.  OOOH…mystery!!!) who I met through this blog, and who made and sent us these little lavender scented hand/pocket warmers a few weeks ago.  These have come in VERY handy during the cold snap this week.  I’ve tucked them into my gloves, so not only have my hands been warm, they smell “calming”.

This was the sky from our deck when I got home from work tonight.  “Red in the morning, sailors warning, red at night, sailors delight”  If the old wives tale of a red sky meaning a good weather day ahead, I’d predict tomorrow will be sunny.

And finally, just ’cause she’s cute and Lord knows I didn’t put enough pictures of Neva on yesterday’s post…..Neva doing her best ‘Prairie Dog” stand.   See the resemblance?  (thank you Google images and picassa)
