The image from google says it all. It was my day to get back to work today after a nice long holiday break.
Before I start today’s post, I just want to send a shout out and a big electronic hug to my best friend Marion and her family over in Victoria. Regular readers have met their pup Ceilidh many times over the last couple of years. Sadly, Ceilidh died this morning. She was only 5, and was a little dog with a BIG personality (who, as you see below, did a mean container plant imitation).

Dennis and I will both miss her (and her long ears) when we visit, as she was Dennis’ doggie girlfriend (they loved each other as you can see in this photo I took on Boxing Day this year).
Pet owners know these days will come, but it never gets easier. She wore the “cape of shame” well, and will be missed.
On a brighter note, it felt good to be eating good, nutritious food, returning to my walking routine and getting back on the weight watchers track. I still think weigh in on Saturday may not be pretty, it’s been a wonderful holiday full of indulgences and fun, but it’s time to get back to the healthy routine.
Breakfast this morning (by the out of focus Confucius) was a whole wheat English muffin with 1 tbsp light cream cheese, 2 slices of lean ham and 1/4 avocado.
Speaking of getting back to the routine, I met Michelle for our usual pre-work Wednesday coffee, and her famous finger made its first appearance of 2013!
During the morning, I had a few grapefruit segments.
Lunch was some of turkey soup I made last week, with some whole grain crackers and a pear. (funny, there were a number of us at work today having turkey soup for lunch. ‘Tis the season)
Later in the afternoon, I had a half piece of the Blue Menu banana bread that I made last week.
I had a few of this new flavour of pop chips when I got home.
I worked later than normal tonight, and Dennis is a bit under the weather, so we decided to just send out for dinner and relax. We ordered a half and half pizza, my half was grilled veggie with no cheese.
Now, I have some housework to do, and this month’s Clean Eating magazine to read. Happy hump day that felt like a Monday!!

I guess the only good thing about going back to work is that the week is already half over?
Very sorry to hear about Ceilidh. She was much loved, I can tell, and will be missed by a lot of people.

Happy new year! Hooray for the famous finger – and for turkey soup! I hope they bring those Popchips out over here too, I love the normal ones.
So sorry to hear about Ceilidh, losing a dog is losing one of the family and so sad she was so young

Ah poor Celidh. As a pet owner and having lost a dog I know how hard this is for your friend and her family.
I started working again today and only one more day after this and the weekends starts
If you check my first post of this year you will be happy to see that I’ve joined the Weight Watchers clan

My sympathies go out to your friend. I know how hard it is to lose a loved pet! She was adorable.
It was hard getting back into the work swing yesterday. I’ll admit I’m dying for the weekend already. I have no idea how I’m going to transition back to full work weeks – I was getting spoiled with all those Fridays I took off in Dec!

Because of my White House trip and using vacation time for that, I didn’t take off any extra time around the holidays. The last couple of weeks have been weird – 2 “Mondays” in a week just isn’t right!
What a sweet pup, sorry to hear about that.

so sorry about the loss of your friends dog. Our pets really do become part of our families and the loss of them is just as sad as any.
Happy belated New Year and merry belated Christmas! I’ve been so busy lately with kid stuff, I haven’t had much time to visit my favorite blogs! Hoping for a calmer 2013!

Yesterday totally felt like a Monday – I am just happy tomorrow is Friday! Next week is gonna suck when I actually have to work five days in a row!
Aw, poor puppers. Our dog is getting old – between 13 1/2 and 15 because we adopted him. We think he’s on the verge of dying, and then the next thing he’s rolling around on the floor playing with his toys like a puppy – so crazy!

So sorry to hear of the loss of Ceilidh. That’s rough and leaves a big hole in everyones heart.
Hope Dennis feels better soon. There is so much flu and junk going around these days. Good job getting back on track – that soup looks good.

It’s always so sad to lose a pet. They become a member of the family. What a beautiful dog and I know she will be missed.
