I really hate “title block”….but I have it, I’m acknowledging it, and I apologize for the silly title of today’s post.
It was a VERY exciting morning for Neva. They FINALLY got around to power washing our side of the building this morning. (was supposed to happen on Tuesday, but who’s keeping track! :) )
Funny! Thank you guest photographer Dennis for capturing the feline excitement. :)
I missed all the fun unfortunately. Before I left for my normal day, I had two pieces of thin, high fiber toast with 1 tbsp almond butter and a glass of green juice.
Mid morning (around the time of the power washing! silly..) I had a cup of raspberries.
Lunch was my famous kale salad, today with nutritional yeast, sunflower seeds, peach, light feta and sun dried tomatoes.
And because one just CAN’T have too much kale, I had kale chips this afternoon. Seriously…one CAN’T have too much kale!!! :)
We had a really fun dinner tonight with my cousin Helen and our friend Clint.
It was pretty hot today, so we thought a pitcher of sangria to start was in order. Cheers!
I’ll give you the quick dinner lowdown….bbq chicken….
Salad with strawberries, almonds, Parmesan and my home made fat free balsamic dressing….
Mushrooms cooked in foil on the grill. (I put about a tbsp white wine, garlic and fresh thyme from the garden in the packet with them and let them steam)
…and steamed nugget potatoes with fresh mint.
I had a glass of white wine….
Dessert was vanilla frozen yogurt with some of the strawberry/rhubarb sauce I made the other day.
Speaking of rhubarb, Clint shared some of his early harvest with us today. Lettuce, green onions, rhubarb and KALE!!!!!!! A BIG BIG BOUNTY of kale!!!! OOOH….I’ll be pulling out my “Book of Kale” and making something new and fun. Be still my heart, and thanks Clint.
And thanks Helen for the delicious wine!!!!! ALSO, thanks for agreeing not to tuck Neva into your bag to take her home with you. She would have willingly gone, but I think we’ll keep her for now! :)
Nothing says “it was a good night” like sharing food and fun with people we care about. And nothing says “WOO HOO” like the fact tomorrow is Friday. Bring on the weekend. It’s going to be a HOT one here in Vancouver. My sun hat may have to make another appearance. Stay tuned….
