It’s Oscar night. I haven’t seen many of the nominated films this year, but I admit, still LOVE the red carpet walk, the outfits, my boyfriend George Clooney (who chose to take that tall skank Stacey Keibler as his date instead of me. HA!) the smarmy a*& kissing and pat patting, the often boring and ridiculous acceptance speeches….it’s fun. Nobody has asked me “Roz, who are you wearing??” right now, so I’ll just ask myself. ”Roz…who are YOU wearing???”.

Well, my pajama bottoms are “Joe Fresh”, my t-shirt is thrift store, my hair is unwashed and I’m accessorized with zits borrowed from Harry Hormone Winston! I had some dead sea mud makeup and as you can see….I have my best pearl headband on to hold back my hair. Look for me on the cover of People Magazine tomorrow!!!! :)
Silliness aside, I’m on the mend. I haven’t ventured out today, my energy level is still in the toilet and my back and head were still a little achy this morning, but as the day wore on that diminished and I’m MUCH better than I was yesterday. It’s true…rest is good!!!!
My appetite is coming back a bit too, breakfast this morning was two pieces of weight watchers cinnamon raisin bread with 1 tbsp almond butter and a banana. I also had an almond milk latte (made with Blue Diamond almond milk so it foamed…yay)
I was slothing on the couch watching “You’ve Gotta Eat Here” – the Canadian version of Guy Fierri’s “Diner’s, Drive Ins and Dives”- and saw a BLT. I decided I was going to make us a “healthified” version by things I had in the freezer and on hand for lunch. I toasted 2 pieces of thin high fibre toast (3 points), had some turkey bacon in the freezer so put two pieces in each sandwich (1 point), tomato and arugula (I didn’t have lettuce…arugula had to do) and 1 tsp light may0 (1 pt). I also spiral cut some yams from the crisper and did them as “oven fries” (4 points). 9 points for the whole thing. Take THAT Guy Fierri!! (Um…that last outburst was a bit unnecessary – apologies for that…..)
Later this afternoon, we had a bit of light cheddar and some saltines.
Dinner was delivered, because its “Roz and Dennis” tradition to get delivery on Oscar night. We had pizza, my part was grilled veggie with no cheese. Relatively point friendly, and yummy.
We also had a glass of white wine. Cheers to the Oscars.
We don’t have a pvr, so are now going to flip between Amazing Race and the Academy Awards. I feel like this weekend was nothing short of a “boring bust” however, the r&r seems to have helped shake whatever was ailing me. Note to self: “next time you are under the weather, maybe a Monday/Tuesday would be a better idea than wasting an entire weekend”. Oh well. Hope everyone’s week goes swimmingly.

Roz you did the right thing taking some rest even though you think it made your weekend boring. Girl most of my weekends are like this
I love the Oscars but unfortunately I can’t stay up and watch because of work the next day. We have this channel that broadcasts the entire show but it’s in the middle of the night.
I was surprised that George didn’t win his Oscar, he deserves one in my opinion.

No one ever asks me that either! My hubby recorded it and I will watch the highlights with him! Glad you had a rest – even if you really didn’t want it.

I watch Guy’s show sometimes and I like it except for the times he eats stuff. That really grosses me out for some reason LOL!
Glad you got some rest!

Glad to hear you’re on the upswing!
I had the Oscars on in the background but tend not to pay much attention to it. I do like to look at the gallery pictures the day after though. It’s funny how they’ll think a dress is an A+ and I will think it’s horrid, and vice versa.
And I think Angelina Jolie needs to show up in something OTHER than a black dress with a high slit. Hasn’t she done that the last …. 5 years or something?

Outbursts against Guy Fieri are always acceptable
I love the idea of his show, but he drives me absolutely crazy so I can’t watch it. I’ll stick with Andrew Zimmerman, my current favorite foodie. I also love the idea of arugula in a BLT-interpretation.
And I love your take on the Oscars/who are you wearing
I watched the red carpet, then turned it off when the actual Oscars started, haha. Too many sequin-covered beige-ish dresses for my taste–but then where would the fun be if I actually liked what everyone was wearing?

I had fun watching the arrivals and critiquing what everyone was wearing – oh how I wish Melissa McCartney had been dressed by Octavia Spencer’s designer…
Hope you are feeling much better today!

Ha you are too funny Roz! I watched the red carpet too and loved it – except for Sasha Cohen – I thought he was a bit over the top and the ashes over Ryan Seacrest wasn’t funny at all. But I loved all the dresses, except for J-Lo – that was a little too much especially watching it with my 10 year old daughter. She was like – isn’t that the lady from American Idol?

Ha – love the mud face! I was wearing a pair of pajamas that are about 10 years old, there is a small hole under one armpit and plenty of stains on the front. Yep, I am classy like that!
Love the wine picture too – how cool is that??!! Feel better!

First – so glad you are on the mend. It was cold and windy outside anyway – so no loss.
I almost fell over reading your post. Maybe girls just do this on Oscar night… My friend Cece and I always get together for Oscars (the red carpet part). This year at my house: PJ’s, facials, mani/pedis and I thread her brows (while she drinks wine to dull the pain). Then we settle in wine in hand and sharpen our Neva claws on the red carpet gowns. Last might my sister called in and we conferenced her so she could tell us what plastic surgery had been done on who.
Such sick fun.
Got about an hour into the actual show before we turned it off. I will voodoo hex Clooney’s girl for ya.
Harry Hormone Winston was a lovely touch.

Oh so funny! I wore a similar outfit…minus the face mud! Glad you’re starting to feel better, Roz!!

You crack me right up! I had a similar ensemble, except for the face…
I agree with Shelley – Melissa McCarthy needs to get with Octavia Spencer’s designer!
