I haven’t read a Glamour magazine in YEARS…..but when I did read them, I remember “street shots” of women making really POOR fashion choices. In order to protect these women’s identity, the eyes were “blacked out”. Do those photos still appear? If so, I may well be appearing in the pages of Glamour soon, with a black box over my eyes.
I had my yoga gear on when I set out this morning at 5:45. It was POURING (seriously POURING) with rain. Which meant, like it or not, I had to wear tights, which I haven’t worn since last spring. Yoga class came and went, I got ready for work, and I realized that my flat “wear with skirt and tights” shoes were under my desk. No problem, I’ll just throw on my orthopedic sandals for the short walk from the gym to my office, and end of story.
WELL….turns out my shoes we’re there. So I spent the day looking REALLY bad from the knees down.
Yup, black sweater, black skirt, black tights (that at times sagged at my ankles – guess I’m a few lbs less than last time I wore them) and BLACK ORTHOPEDIC sandals. Despite the fact my feet were super comfortable, this is not a look that needs to become my signature style. And it was exhausting fighting off all the men (and several women) were driven wild with desire at the mere sight of this!!! :)
On to the rest of the day….
Breakfast and morning snack were toted with me and eaten after yoga. Greek yogurt, a banana and one of my banana/applesauce muffins.
I met my friend Kathy and her husband Phil for a VERY quick lunch because they were in the neighborhood. We popped into Whole Foods, I had two vegetarian salad rolls and a California hand roll. I guess I was feeling roly poly! (that was silly!)
Later in the afternoon I had a few grapes and 1 oz of cheese. The wind up snail was NOT consumed.
After work, I had these two banana/oatmeal cookies……
…and scurried off for a visit with my newfound “cousin” Helen. We drank tea and talked about our family history (she has traced back GENERATIONS…..way back to the 1400′s!) and where her Dad and my Dad’s family lines intersect, and more importantly, who did who and what scandals are in the family closet! Kidding. Sort of….but every family has some of that! So interesting. I’m looking forward to helping her out with some research and scanning some photos along the way.
While I was walking home, I found evidence that autumn is officially here.
Dennis was also out tonight, and as luck would have it, we both got home around the same time. We decided to have the dinner of champions, and had grilled cheese sandwiches. (slightly point friendlier than normal because I used lower fat cheese, high fibre bread and the butter I put on the outside is ”light” and mixed with canola oil – I also squished it down a bit so it oozed for the photo – I can style a picture, I just can’t style tights and sandals!
)
So that’s Thursday. BIG yay that tomorrow is Friday. And it’s weigh in day! We have a busy weekend ahead, but should be fun. Anyone have any big plans for the weekend?

I have such a hard time remembering to pack shoes… More than once I have had no shoes other than my sneakers after a gym workout. At least your sandals “matched” the rest of your outfit!
The photo of the leaves is beautiful!
Happy Friday!

Sometimes your posts bring me joy and laughter. Today is one of those days.
I have worn different colored heels to work. and my tights have also bagged at the ankles. But the combo of those shoes and the bagging – LOL too funny. Yep. I bet you had to beat them off.
It seriously rained at our house overnight. Woke me up.
Did you say you were going to post the cookie recipe?

See – your shoes wouldn’t bother me a bit. This comes from a woman who wears socks with sandals in the summertime
I now want grilled cheese, thankyouverymuch.

I don;t know if you know the shoe brand called Dansko. Have have several pairs. Well, I adore those shoes. As someone who is on my feet a lot when teaching, they are terrific. Well, one day I dressed in dim light. When I got to work I discovered, much to my chagrin, that I had one black and one burgandy Dansko on. So, my blip became a light hearted conversation starter. Was fun actually.
Have a great weekend! Have you [posted that recipe for the banana/applesauce muffins?? Michele
