It is day one of Roz and Dennis’ Excellent Staycation Adventure 2011!!

My goals for today were all VERY lofty – NOT:  attempt to sleep in, go to advanced yoga, eat healthy food, drink a glass of good wine, relax at home and rent a movie.   Doesn’t sound like the most exciting day, but it is JUST want we wanted to do.

Goal 1 – attempt to sleep in.  Check for Dennis.  No check for me.  I was wide awake at 5:45. (that is the time I LEAVE home on yoga mornings, so technically it WAS sleeping in.  Not really…)

Goal 2 – go to advanced yoga.  Check for Roz.  No check for Dennis.  But to be fair, this wasn’t a goal of Dennis’ at all, and he DID come to the gym with me and work out while I was being bendy.  It was a really good class, and wow…I worked up quite the sweat.  It was way more challenging than my weekday class, and I loved it.  I’ll be back.

Goal 3 – Eat healthy food.  Check for us both.  You’ll see my day’s menu below.

Goal 4 – Drink a nice glass of wine.  Check for us both.  Ditto about seeing it below.

Goal 5 – Relax at home and rent a movie.  Check, and I’ll say what movie we’ve rented at the end of the post.

Breakfast this morning was a smoothie (with almond milk, 1/2 banana and frozen blueberries) and a multigrain bagel thin with 1 tbsp almond butter and the other 1/2 banana.

I also had a good frothy almond milk latte.

After our workouts, Dennis and I went out for sushi lunch.  I had miso soup, a vegetable cone and a spicy tuna cone (both with brown rice – and there is MUCH less rice in a cone than a roll, so I’m pretty sure they are lower in points.  I have to estimate the points, because I have yet to find “cone points plus” values when I google) and a brown rice “Mr. Green Roll” (which had spinach, avocado, carrot, asparagus and mango – with teryaki sauce and a wasabi dressing on top)

We just had tea, but the cover page of the wine/sake/beer menu made us laugh.

We were out and about after lunch, and parked on this beautiful street.  It was a really windy day, so the cherry blossoms were falling like snowflakes.  A number of people on bikes, in cars and on foot had stopped and were taking photos.  This picture doesn’t give the “snowstorm” justice, but it was BEAUTIFUL!

I made flatbread roasted vegetable pizza for dinner tonight.  (I just found these new flatbreads at Safeway last week)  I topped Dennis’ with peppers, mushrooms and some crumbled turkey sausage with mozzarella, and mine was roasted onions, eggplant, peppers and mushrooms with spinach, sliced fresh tomatos, low-fat goat cheese and balsamic reduction.  So yummy!!!  (especially when I put hot sauce on top) This entire pizza is 9 points.

Here is my wine goal being met.  I had a glass of nice chardonnay.

Then switched to non-alcoholic, 45 calories a cup, zero point (but I counted it as a point because I had two glasses) white zinfandel.  Given the choice, I’d take the chardonnay any day, but I’m determined not to use up all my extra points on wine.  Cheers!

Now I’m going to close this post off and go and watch Black Swan.  I’ve heard really good things about it, I love dance so even if the plot is crap, I’m hoping for some great ballet performances.

Hope everyone’s weekend is going well.  I’ll check in tomorrow
