If you haven’t already clicked on Fitblogger, do so now and check out my guest post! You know, I realized as I typed this how hard it is for me to toot my own horn. However, I’ll suck it up and direct you over there one more time.

I started my Monday morning with a smoothie made with almond milk, banana, a few mango chunks and a handful of frozen blueberries. (that I found in the back of my freezer when I rearranged it yesterday – all this time I thought I’d depleted last summer’s berries, but I found 3 bags back there. YAY!)
My morning snack was this little container with pineapple, blueberries, strawberries and blackberries.
I went for a walk at lunch today. Before I went, I had 10 wonton chips, some cherry tomatoes and a cup of the soup I made yesterday.
After my walk, I had the rest of my lunch - a hodgepodge salad with arugula, strawberries, olives, cucumber, feta, fresh mint and fat-free balsamic. AND….drum roll…. I sprinkled some nutritional yeast on top.
I’d seen a number of bloggers using nutritional yeast, and had been curious, but last week, my blog friend Kalli of Fit and Forty Something actually used the word “obsessed” in reference to it. She and I exchanged an email and I got the lowdown. You’re right Kalli, it DOES taste cheesy and nutty, and is apparently CHOCKED full of B vitamins. Thanks for the note, the info, and for introducing this to me. I KNOW I’ll be using it often!!
Mid afternoon I had a few grapes, a piece of cheese and one of my 2 point ginger oatmeal cookies.
Dennis and I split a few wonton chips and a couple of Tbsp of lower-fat artichoke dip after work.
Dinner was chicken and a bunch of vegetables cooked in a combination of salsa and red pepper sauce. Mine was served over broccoli, Dennis had his over brown rice. (and yes, I sprinkled more of the nutritional yeast on top) Not the most beautiful dinner ever, but very very tasty!
I have a busy night ahead. Once I get everything ready for early morning yoga, I have some reading to do. On my walk at lunchtime today, and came across a thrift store – it beckoned, and I grabbed some cooking magazines ($0.25 each) and a book on writing ($1) so want to go and check them out. I also bought 4 new brandy glasses. We realized when we had a brandy last week that we didn’t have even 2 glasses that matched. I found these today for a whopping $0.50 each! For as often as we drink brandy, they’re PERFECT!! I LOVE Thrift Stores!!! There are some great diamonds if you are willing to sift through the rough!
Hope everyone’s Monday started out well!!!

Great post on Fitblogger!
Nutritional yeast is still on my “list.” I was actually going to buy it the other day, but I had read that too much isn’t good when you have gallstones (which I do) so I didn’t… I will try it some day!!!

I love thrift stores! Yard sales, too! I’ve found some fantastic bargains for things I really needed.
Still haven’t tried the nutritional yeast, but I may someday.

I was so curious about nutritional yeast! I tried it for the first time recently – I think it’s good but certainly no parmesan cheese

I hated the nutritional yeast! Ugh! I need to get rid of the bag moldering in my cupboard from a year ago.
Do you use unsweetened almond milk? That is the kind I have.

Hi Lori, yes, I use the unsweetened Blue Diamond almond milk. Either “plain” or “vanilla”, whichever is on sale. I just cracked open a new carton, so it’ll be interesting to see if I get my steaming mojo back!! Have a great day.

You know I have never used nutritional yeast either. I really need to give it a try…especially how you described it.
Loving your days eats. That is neat you scored some cooking mags at a thrift store!

Toot away Roz! I don’t think that chicken dish looks so bad and sounds yummy – something I would definitely try.

Anything mexican-ish (when salsa is involved) is delicious to me!

Surprise frozen fruit is the best
I used to use nutritional yeast and haven’t for a while. I loved it mixed with balsamic glaze!
